The PATHS Therapeutic After School Program at Mt. Hope Family Center is a clinical intervention designed to build social skills and emotion identity and development with children ages 6-11 from the city of Rochester. Some of these children have histories of complex trauma and/or behavioral challenges. Counselors work directly with the children, developing and implementing the Promoting Alternative THinking Strategies (PATHS) skills curriculum and problem-solving any needs that may arise. The program requires counselors to be flexible within specified time frames and commit to all training and program days without exception. There may also be some remote work required for lesson plan preparation on non-program days.
