About The Position

Jobs in this group are typically responsible for managing and operating laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of disease. They ensure equipment maintenance, adhere to safety protocols, and support quality control. These roles are responsible for preparing and analyzing tissue samples, blood tests, and other specimens to assist in diagnosing diseases and conducting research. May work with academic research and/or clinical services within the university’s medical or research centers. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Spends majority of time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. Opportunities for progression outside this career stream are typically limited without additional education or significant training and experience. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care areas. Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • At least one year of experience
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs
