About The Position
Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking a Pathology Coordinator to assist the Pathologist in the gross room and autopsies. This role involves a variety of duties to support the laboratory and pathology department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year hospital histology laboratory experience required
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Pathologist in the gross room and autopsies
- Assisting at frozen sections
- Assisting at fine needle aspiration biopsies
- Stocking and delivery of supplies
- Transport specimens and slides
- Filing
- Answering the telephone
- Handling hazardous materials
- Accurately labeling and numbering cases
- Completing special projects or other assignments within a specified timeframe
