About The Position

The Pathologist Assistant assists pathologists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and performance of human postmortem examinations. Assists with and/or performs gross dictation of complex surgical specimens. As directed by supervising pathologist(s), manager, or administrator, may assume other responsibilities including work flow management, research, and/or teaching duties. Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Masters Level approved Pathologists' Assistant program.
• PA(ASCP) - Must be attained within one year of start date.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medical practices, and human anatomy.
• Focused attention to detail, communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, accountability.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.
