Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid teaching certification (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity
  • Experience working with middle school students
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Designs and facilitates engaging elective courses that prepare students for success in high school and beyond
  • Implements curriculum aligned to college and career readiness competencies
  • Incorporates project-based learning and authentic performance tasks
  • Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Integrates literacy, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving into daily instruction
  • Uses formative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction
  • Maintains high academic expectations while creating an engaging classroom culture

  • Teaches, reinforces, and celebrates positive student behaviors
