Patent Prosecution Attorney (Semiconductor Technologies)
About The Position
Aspen Careers is partnering with a highly respected intellectual property boutique to identify a Patent Prosecution Attorney with experience in semiconductor technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with world-class innovators on sophisticated, substantive patent work, not high-volume translation or localization. Requirements
- 4–6 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience (strong junior candidates with exceptional technical backgrounds will also be considered).
- Demonstrated experience independently drafting original U.S. patent applications involving semiconductor fabrication or closely related technologies.
- Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or another closely related engineering discipline.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Nice To Haves
- Industry experience involving semiconductor fabrication, device engineering, process integration, packaging, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience with logic design, photonics, optics, memory technologies, or semiconductor equipment is a plus.
- Registered to practice before the USPTO preferred.
- Mandarin Chinese language skills are a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with engineers and inventors on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies, including fabrication processes, logic design, advanced packaging, and optical devices.
- Draft original U.S. patent applications from invention disclosures.
- Develop sophisticated patent portfolios rather than serving as intermediaries on translation-heavy prosecution.
- Build meaningful client relationships.
- Develop your own book of business and long-term partnership potential.
