About The Position

Lowenstein Sandler is a sophisticated law firm with over 400 lawyers and 300 business services professionals across multiple US offices. We are seeking professionals for our business services group who value collaboration, entrepreneurship, client focus, and community involvement. The Patent Docket Clerk will support the Patent Docket Administrator in maintaining the patent docketing system and communicating critical deadlines to the prosecution group.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant patent docketing experience.
  • Proficiency with Outlook and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and/or Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process official communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to maintain prosecution records and track statutory deadlines.
  • Review and process communications from foreign agents, relay them to responsible practitioners/support staff, and update prosecution records.
  • Perform global reviews of docketing records, provide reminders of statutory deadlines, distribute docket and client portfolio reports, and manage the export of data to annuity providers.
  • Perform related tasks as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
