About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bowie, MD, for a Pastry Cook reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef. The Pastry Cook will work alongside the Executive Pastry Chef and pastry team to produce high-quality baked goods, pastries, and plated desserts for our restaurants, catering events, and signature cultural experiences. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role also involves collaborating with the kitchen team to meet production deadlines, contributing creative ideas to seasonal menus and event-specific offerings, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role offers exposure to a wide range of work — from daily restaurant pastry production to high-end catering events that bring nationally recognized guest talent into our kitchen throughout the year. The right candidate will be hands-on, creative, and ready to grow under the direction of an Executive Pastry Chef who values team development.

Requirements

  • Expertise in baking and bakery production
  • Strong creativity and willingness to contribute ideas to pastry design and menu development
  • Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in culinary techniques related to cooking and pastry creation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality products
  • Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working as part of a team under the direction of an Executive Pastry Chef

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a bakery or professional kitchen preferred
  • Culinary school degree or equivalent training is an advantage
