About The Position

We are seeking a Pastry Cook to join our team. As a key member of the Eau Resort & Spa team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort. The Nobu Pastry Cook will plan, prep, set up and prepare quality products in all areas of the Pastry/Bake Shop to include, but not limited to, pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, jams, and displays/centerpieces in accordance with departmental quality standards and specifications. This role will include maintaining organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. The ideal candidate will exemplify the philosophy and mission of Eau Resort & Spa and the Nobu signature experience.

Requirements

  • 1 year’s experience as a Pastry Cook/Baker in a luxury hotel or restaurant.
  • Food Handling Certificate.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management to ensure mutual understanding.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests' food orders.
  • Ability to transport cases of received goods to the workstation; pots and pans of food from storage/prep areas to the serving line.
  • Ability to work long hours in hot, noisy, and sometimes close conditions.
  • Ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ability to operate, clean, and maintain all equipment required in job functions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Check production schedule and par and establish priority items for the day.
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to Nobu standards.
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by the Health Department and hotel requirements.
