About The Position

Spiegelworld is looking for a Pastry Cook STEX to join the team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The Pastry Cook STEX is responsible for executing a world-class menu to create a dining experience that guests will savor long after they have taken the last bite. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and personal standards, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent guest service by preparing polished yet unpretentious dishes and delivering them consistently. This is a STEX / On-Call position and the scheduling will be based on the team’s needs. You must be available Saturday through Monday, 7am - 3pm, typically. This position reports to the Executive Chef. The position earns $23.8195/hour.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in a professional, high-volume kitchen environment required.
Ability to read recipes, use a scale properly, mix and bake a variety of items.
Able to take direction.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Must have problem-solving abilities and be self-motivated and organized.
Possess a commitment to quality service.
Knowledge of basic food and beverage concepts.
At least 21 years of age.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed.
Successful background check and drug test clearance prior to hire.
Must have valid work authorization for the US.

Nice To Haves

Completed formal culinary training or apprenticeship.
Serve Safe Certification for Food Handling.
Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality-driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

Responsibilities

Set up a workstation according to bakery-pastry shop guidelines.
Prepare all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.

Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the bakery-pastry shop management.
Restock all items as needed throughout the shift.
Properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.
