About The Position

This position involves preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. The role requires washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. The Pastry Cook II will prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists, including preparing cold foods. Responsibilities also include operating various kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, testing foods for doneness, and monitoring food quality during preparation. The role requires setting up and breaking down the work station, serving food in proper portions, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area, including washing and disinfecting the kitchen, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Additionally, the position requires checking and ensuring the correct temperature of appliances and food. The employee must follow all company and safety/security policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally are essential. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and listening to employee concerns are also key aspects of the role. Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards is required. The job involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and performing movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by supervisors.

  • At least 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cold foods.

  • Monitor food quality while preparing food.

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
