About The Position

National Star Services, a 28-year-old facility management company with nationwide services, is seeking Pastry Helpers for their Des Plaines, IL 60018 location. This role involves assisting the pastry production team, chefs, and cooks in preparing and mixing pastry products, working at various stations including fruit cutting, economy packing, juice, basket, and assembling/plating food. The position requires strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, reporting any food safety system issues to management, and performing duties as assigned by a supervisor. The schedule is Monday through Sunday with two days off during the week, and the first shift is from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The regular pay rate is $17.50/hr, with overtime at $26.25/hr.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for this role.
• Own transportation to get to and from work.
• Must provide two valid forms of ID.
• Must have experience working in a kitchen or manufacturing site.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to start working as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Assisted the pastry production team, chefs, and cooks in preparing and mixing pastry products.
• Work in different station such as (Fruit cutting station, economy packing station, juice station, basket station, assembling and plating food etc.)
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
• Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety tea.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
