About The Position

The Local Church Pastoral Residency is a two-year mentoring program designed to train and equip church leaders of tomorrow. This program is for those who have completed or are completing their Seminary degree, or those ready for hands-on ministry while pursuing a Seminary education. The Residency serves as a bridge from academia to practical ministry, offering real leadership and responsibility within a coaching and mentorship framework. Residents will gain practical ministry experience, develop formation-based competencies, and build a ministry resume. The program aims to train, equip, and send out Pastors for various ministry opportunities upon completion. The Local Church is a 9-year-old multiplying church focused on reaching the next generation and those without a spiritual home, with a vibrant community that loves its city and follows Jesus. They are intentional about investing back into the city through partnerships with local organizations and have planted their first church.

Requirements

Completion of a Seminary degree, or currently pursuing a Seminary degree.
Commitment to following Christ.
Demonstrated ministry leadership ability.
A heart for serving the local church.
Academic excellence.
Integrity of heart and skillful hands.
Willingness to move to the Grand Rapids area and serve at TLC for two years.
