About The Position

Bethesda Methodist Church, an independent Methodist church following disaffiliation from the UMC in 2023, is seeking a full-time Pastor. The church is looking for a leader who shares their vision for church growth and community outreach through solid biblical preaching, individual discipleship, revitalization strategies, and evangelism in the Bethesda community and surrounding areas. The current pastor is retiring after 16 years of faithful part-time service. The church desires a pastor who loves Jesus, values people, faithfully teaches God’s holy Word, and has the drive to lead the church toward greater spiritual health, discipleship, and community outreach. The pastor will be expected to actively support the church’s commitment to local and worldwide missions. The Sunday morning service averages 60-70 attendees and follows a traditional format with hymns, prayers, a children's sermon, guest singers in the summer, and a choir during the rest of the year. Sermons are relevant, practical, and biblically centered, with an altar call for prayer and salvation. The church is open to discussing adjustments to the service outline.
