- In agreement with the church’s constitution, doctrines, and teachings
- A man of humility, devoted to prayer

Responsibilities
- Teach, shepherd, and lead toward the fulfillment of the church’s Bible-based purpose: to evangelize, edify, and equip people to be true worshipers and representatives of Jesus Christ
- Take the Scriptures, digest them, and make them come alive – with practical application for daily living in the modern world
- Protect the flock from false teachings and seek unity within the congregation
- Honor the history of the church while preparing it for the future
- Be a friend to all ages, able to minister across all age levels
