About The Position

The Pastor, Kids Ministries – East Edmond is a part-time, salaried, exempt ministry position at Crossings Community Church. The role leads the Kids Ministry at the East Edmond location, helping children and families find and follow Jesus and grow in faith, hope, and love. The pastor leads, recruits, and manages staff and volunteers, ministry programs, and curriculum for children from birth through sixth grade. Ministry serves children on weekends, Wednesday evenings, and through events and programs during the year. The position also champions family ministry by partnering with parents and guardians and coordinating with other ministries and church locations.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree, at a minimum.
Experience in campus ministry, leadership development, and staff management.
Attend Crossings consistently to understand its culture, mission, and vision.
Passion for walking with people in their faith development.
Proven and effective leadership in the areas of responsibility for the position.
Ability to multitask and work as a team player, with high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
Current unrestricted driver’s license.
Ability to walk up to a quarter mile; lift and carry parcels weighing 25–35 pounds for distances up to 500 feet; and lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Recognize that this is a safety-sensitive position involving responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others, including minors.

Responsibilities

Recruit, hire, train, lead, inspire, and develop Kids Ministry staff and volunteers.
Build a thriving volunteer culture; communicate with volunteers, express appreciation, provide information and inspiration, and meet with them regularly to shepherd and support them.
Advocate for children’s ministry and the needs of children and families across the church.
Collaborate with middle school, high school, missions, worship, and other ministry areas to create a cohesive community that cares for children and families.
Work with Kids Pastors and teams across locations to execute shared ministry strategies and encourage a family-friendly church.
Develop and execute strategies to grow the ministry, manage resources effectively, and increase location attendance by drawing families into the church through Kids Ministry.
Design events that support the spiritual formation of children and families, including Next Steps for Kids, Parent Child Dedication, outreach, and seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter, and summer camps.
Manage Kids Ministry programming for weekend and mid-week services and oversee ministry strategies, including Sunday mornings, special needs ministry, and events.
Build the presence of Crossings Kids at the East Edmond location and in the East Edmond community.
Partner with and minister to parents and families, helping connect weekend ministry with what happens at home.
Maintain ministry standards and professional ethics consistent with Crossings’ goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values; support church leadership and staff unity; and represent Crossings in approved civic and ministry-related efforts.
Perform other duties related to the position or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission, and goals of Crossings’ ministries.
