About The Position

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a highly organized Pasta Cook to support its food and beverage operations and create a memorable guest experience. The role is based at a luxury Five-Star Five-Diamond property in the heart of Michigan Avenue in Chicago, with opportunities to grow within a diverse, multi-outlet property. The position is responsible for preparing pasta, fulfilling daily kitchen requirements, and planning and executing production while maintaining standards for presentation, efficient use of raw materials, and food storage. The salary range is $28–$29.75 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in an upscale restaurant.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 2 years of pasta-making experience preferred.
• Creativity and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pasta.
• Minimize wastage and maximize the use of raw materials.
• Maintain presentation standards for all items produced and help develop new standards for the section.
• Produce the daily kitchen requirements.
• Plan and execute production to maintain production.
• Follow hotel cost control policies and procedures.
• Assist with the effective storage of food items.
