About The Position

Join a team shaping the future of airport infrastructure across Canada and beyond. As part of our Engineering Services group, the Airports team delivers innovative planning and engineering solutions for major airport and heliport programs. We are seeking a Passenger Transport Engineer to contribute to one of the most significant Canadian airport programs of the decade, supporting safe, efficient, and high‑performance passenger transport systems. This position requires a full‑time presence five days per week at the project office to support close collaboration and program delivery. Requirements

  • Ability to apply 7+ years of experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of passenger transportation systems on major capital programs.
  • Aptitude for defining functional and technical specifications aligned with business and operational requirements.
  • Proficiency in passenger transport, elevating, conveying, and mass transportation technologies and their regulations.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder engagement and facilitate workshops with diverse technical teams.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and enterprise tools including Microsoft 365 and common project management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise for the planning, design, and delivery of passenger transport systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensure technical compliance through design reviews, submittal reviews, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Conduct Facility Alteration Permit compliance reviews for renovations, maintenance, and new construction.
  • Perform field inspections and provide non‑resident engineering support during construction phases.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces across engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Review contractor and designer deliverables and monitor construction inputs including RFIs and shop drawings.
  • Report progress, issues, and opportunities to management and support governance and process development.
