About The Position

The Patient Access Service (PAS) Specialist supports the Center for Women's Health (CWH) by gathering and recording patient information and providing customer service throughout the patient visit. Duties include documenting telephone calls, checking patients in, verifying demographic and insurance information, reviewing appointment details, collecting payments, processing receipts and accounting procedures, completing paperwork and signatures, and entering check-ins in Epic Cadence. The role communicates with clinical staff about provider delays or additional patient needs and may share information about CWH research studies. In the CWH Call Center, the PAS Specialist answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, and sends in-basket messages and telephone encounters to nurses and providers through Epic. The role may arrange transportation through OHSU systems, accommodate special needs such as interpreters, obtain prior medical records and images, and follow up on requests for outside records. The clinic is open Monday through Friday. The position is approximately 90% sitting and 10% walking within the CWH or OHSU, and may occasionally involve exposure to human fluids or tissues.
