Banner Estrella Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Services (PAS) Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients in our Emergency Department. In this critical role, you will ensure seamless access to emergency care by performing patient registration, verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining authorizations, calculating patient liability, providing financial counseling, and collecting co-payments and deposits. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy in administrative processes. This position is essential to preventing overtime, reducing incomplete accounts, and minimizing patient wait times, directly supporting our mission to provide timely, quality emergency care. Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 353-bed acute care hospital providing a full range of health care services to the fast growing communities of west Phoenix. This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. This position is in a hospital-based setting which includes Emergency Dept, Inpatient, Obstetrics, Outpatient, etc. Responsible for in person patient intake and registration, providing superior customer service, accurately identifying, and obtaining authorizations patients’ insurance, verifying eligibility and benefits, generating patient estimates for services rendered, financial counseling, and collecting patient liability. Demonstrates the ability to resolve customer issues and provides excellent customer service.
