About The Position

Performs needed shipping and receiving tasks in the parts warehouse. This role involves placing daily parts orders, processing incoming stock and special-order parts, updating electronic files, and handling the shipment and receipt of parts, letters, and packages for the dealership. The position also supports warranty claims, manages parts returns, assists with inventory, prepares cores for shipment, and aids in dispatching delivery drivers. Maintaining the parts warehouse and operating a forklift are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Place daily parts orders.
  • Run paperwork needed to check in stock and special-order parts.
  • Stock and post incoming orders.
  • Separate stock and special-order parts.
  • Assist Parts Manager in processing weekly stock orders.
  • Update electronic parts files.
  • Send and receive parts, letters, and packages for the dealership.
  • Print special order tags daily and tag special order parts to distribute to the counterman that ordered them.
  • Post parts throughout the day.
  • Provide necessary information to the warranty department to allow prompt filing of parts warranties.
  • Return parts as needed and remove from inventory after credit is received.
  • Assist in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory.
  • Crate all cores for shipment.
  • Assist in dispatching the parts delivery drivers.
  • Maintain the parts warehouse.
  • Load and unload delivery and freight trucks.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Log incoming and outgoing items.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
