About The Position

A Parts Room Supervisor oversees part room clerks and manages activity at the counter. This role will assist in managing the inventory, distribution of parts and supplies within the Parts Room. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth flow of materials, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and optimizing operational efficiency. They lead teams and will be responsible for training and task assignments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • High School Diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the vendors, customers, production and management personnel.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and or schedule form.
  • Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. Degree preferred.
  • Experience is inventory management a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the team’s storage and distribution of parts and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate records, tracking stock levels, and ensuring timely availability of parts.
  • Leading a team of parts room staff, including training and task assignments.
  • Creating requisitions, coordinating orders, and ensuring timely delivery. Assisting Purchasing and Accounting when needed.
  • Ensuring purchased parts are the correct parts that meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory, transactions, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assisting with managing the budget for parts and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Addressing issues related to inventory shortages, supply chain disruptions, or other problems that arise.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards related to the storage and handling of parts.
  • Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall parts room operations.
