About The Position

This position is responsible for inventory control in the maintenance shop and receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience using SAP preferred but not required as well as Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer programs.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with help.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Keep the work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping).
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Use the correct tool for each job assignment.
Report injury of oneself or coworker to management.
Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document.
Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment.
Prepares materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement.
Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
Salvages damaged or used material and/or its disposal.
Check all issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools), and ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed. Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal.
Ability to safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery.
Other duties may be assigned.
