About The Position

This position is responsible for inventory control in the maintenance shop and receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using SAP preferred but not required as well as Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer programs.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with help.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Keep the work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping).
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Use the correct tool for each job assignment.
  • Report injury of oneself or coworker to management.
  • Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document.
  • Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment.
  • Prepares materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement.
  • Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Salvages damaged or used material and/or its disposal.
  • Check all issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools), and ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed. Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
