About The Position

This position is responsible for purchasing, storing, and issuing spare parts for the facility. The role involves completing data entry for parts issues and receipts, performing pick-up and delivery of parts, conducting cycle counts of maintenance inventory, and monitoring/maintaining inventory levels. The attendant will also pick/pull and stage inventory for projects, read shop manuals, contact vendors for purchases, compare invoices to purchase orders, store parts, and issue parts to associates upon request. Additionally, the role includes receiving and shipping maintenance parts, keeping records, assigning part numbers, and monitoring min/max inventory levels. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must have inventory experience
  • Must have basic inventory and computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, fractions, etc.)
  • Ability to read inventory lists and manage plant inventory sheets to ensure facility is always fully stocked with proper boxes packaging chemicals and other inventory items
  • Track receiving shipments and update purchase orders in SAP
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 45 to 75 degrees
  • Ability to climb stairs and step ladders
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, and gripping required

  • Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)

Responsibilities

  • Complete data entry of issues and receipts of maintenance parts
  • Pick-up and delivery of parts and other items pertaining to the operation
  • Perform cycle counts of maintenance inventory
  • Monitor and maintain consistent levels of maintenance floor stocks and store’s inventory
  • Pick/pull and stage maintenance inventory related items for PMs, CERs, and other related projects
  • Read shop manuals to ascertain type and specification of part
  • Contact vendors by phone, fax, and by mail/e-mail to purchase approved parts
  • Compare invoices/packing list against purchase orders/requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received
  • Store purchased parts in storeroom bins/staging area and issues parts to associates upon request and proper authorization
  • Receive and ship all maintenance related parts and items to respective departments
  • Keep records of parts received and issued, and inventories parts in storeroom periodically
  • Assign part number and staging area for maintenance inventory related items
  • Monitor and maintain min/max inventory levels for usage
