About The Position

Spire Motorsports is looking for a Parts Room Attendant to support our race operations by keeping parts organized, accurate and ready when our teams need them. This hands-on role is a great fit for someone who is organized, dependable and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The Parts Room Attendant is responsible for providing timely and accurate parts and materials support to internal departments through the parts room. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees requesting inventory items and is responsible for locating, issuing, documenting, and processing parts and materials in accordance with established inventory control procedures. The Parts Room Attendant plays an important role in maintaining inventory accuracy by ensuring parts transactions, returns, and adjustments are properly recorded while keeping the parts room organized, stocked, and ready to support operational needs. This position works closely with the Inventory Control Manager, Inventory Control Specialist, Inventory Parts Runner, and internal departments to identify shortages and ensure requested parts and materials are available when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Staff the parts room service area and provide timely and professional support to employees requesting parts, materials, supplies, and other inventory items.
  • Receive parts requests, identify requested items, and accurately pull and issue inventory to internal departments.
  • Record all parts and materials issued through the appropriate inventory management system or established documentation process.
  • Ensure inventory is charged or assigned to the appropriate department, team, vehicle, project, or other designated category as required.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, descriptions, and other relevant information before issuing inventory.
  • Process returned, unused, defective, or exchanged parts in accordance with established inventory procedures.
  • Ensure returned items are properly inspected, documented, and returned to inventory or designated for further disposition.
  • Assist employees in locating parts and identifying appropriate inventory items when requested.
  • Monitor frequently requested inventory and communicate low-stock conditions, shortages, unusual usage, or recurring requests to the Inventory Control Manager or Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Maintain organized and clearly labeled parts room shelves, bins, storage locations, and service areas.
  • Restock inventory locations as materials are received or returned.
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, labeling, and stocking incoming inventory as needed.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory audits, and discrepancy research.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and promptly communicate concerns to the Inventory Control Manager or Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for parts issuance, returns, transfers, and other inventory transactions.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Parts Runner regarding parts requiring pickup, delivery, transfer, or movement between locations.
  • Maintain appropriate control of access to inventory and parts storage areas in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keep parts room work areas clean, organized, safe, and free of unnecessary materials.
  • Provide a high level of internal customer service while maintaining established inventory control requirements.
  • Stay current with relevant inventory systems, procedures, and company practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
