About The Position

a.i. solutions is seeking a resilient, driven engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate. The position provides Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) support to the Targets Program in the Test Directorate (DTTQ). The engineer is expected to provide timely support, take initiative to identify and solve problems, and work both independently and as part of an established team to meet customer requirements. The role involves reviewing supplier PMP plans and non-standard parts requests; evaluating technical data packages, component reliability, counterfeit-parts risks, and obsolescence impacts; and supporting program-level boards, audits, reviews, failure analyses, testing, and risk management. The engineer will work with government customers and contractor suppliers to identify and resolve technical issues and non-conformances affecting system integrity. The role is expected to be onsite full-time, although a hybrid schedule is currently in effect. Travel of 25–30% is required in support of review activities. An active security clearance requirement is listed as “S.”

Requirements

  • Experience evaluating complex technical data together with programmatic information to develop PMP-related positions and decisions.
  • Experience analyzing electrical and electronic components and assemblies for electronic reliability and part application, independently identifying failures, researching screening and qualification test plans, and recommending potential technical solutions for component applications.
  • Experience applying Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) policies to PMP requirements on advanced weapon systems.
  • Experience applying military, industry, and commercial PMP standards.
  • Experience with methodologies to detect and prevent counterfeit parts and materials, including inspection techniques and test methods.

  • Develop failure modes and effects analyses (FMEAs) for missile systems.
  • Research whether missile components are suitable for high-reliability military systems.
  • Analyze obsolescence and parts at system, subsystem, and component levels to evaluate impacts on electronic parts.
  • Perform MDA evaluations, mission-focused audits, manufacturing assessments, and technical and mission assurance reviews; identify issues, risks, and proposed resolutions.
  • Support failure review boards and engineering reviews, and monitor testing and qualification activities.
