About The Position

Jaguar Land Rover SC, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is seeking a Parts Manager to oversee auto parts operations. This role involves interacting with Service Technicians, ordering parts from suppliers, receiving and storing parts, managing inventory, processing warranties and returns, maintaining stocking levels, managing wholesale units, and reporting as needed. The ideal candidate will have automotive industry experience, knowledge of vehicle mechanics, strong computer skills, and excellent communication and managerial abilities.

Requirements

  • Automotive industry experience
  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations
  • Strong computer knowledge, including spreadsheets, word processing, data entry, and inventory systems
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow up consistently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership of the details, large and small
  • Decision-making that demonstrates good judgment

  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Experience in an automotive parts department
  • Excellent communication and managerial skills
  • Some sales experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Auto Parts operations for the dealership
  • Interact with the Service Technicians to coordinate parts for vehicle reconditioning
  • Order parts from suppliers based on the Reconditioning Department and Technicians' requests
  • Receive, unpack, and store parts in appropriate storage areas so they are readily available when needed
  • Takes inventory and maintains records of parts received
  • Process parts warranties and parts returns as necessary
  • Maintain stocking levels
  • Provide inventory fulfillment to outlying stores
  • Trigger and execute arbitration and transportation claims
  • Manage wholesale units to include a weekly log for visibility
  • Deliver ongoing quality assurance for on-lot vehicles
  • Reporting when needed and as appropriate
