About The Position

This role involves assisting walk-in and phone customers with their parts needs, suggesting additional products and services, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Parts Counterperson will also be responsible for managing parts inventory, processing orders, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position requires a positive and professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must have a valid operator's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts.
Suggest companion requirements and promote additional sales.
Ensure customers are aware of the full product line and current specials.
Pull purchased parts from stock.
Determine availability of out-of-stock parts and submit emergency orders if requested.
Answer incoming customer phone calls promptly and politely.
Resolve customer disputes in a manner beneficial to both the customer and the company.
Obtain sufficient information to ensure the correct part is specified.
Use approved discrepancy forms to notify of inventory discrepancies.
Keep current on new products and product updates.
Follow all safety guidelines.
Assist with all phases of parts ordering, including recording stock-out situations and preparing cores.
Recommend suggested products to broaden product offering.
Keep front counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Help keep the department clean and free from debris, including sweeping, organizing the 'will call' area, dusting shelves, and vacuuming stairs.
