About The Position
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for assisting customers and internal service technicians with parts selection, ordering, and inventory support. This role ensures accurate and timely parts distribution while delivering excellent customer service and supporting dealership operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills required
Nice To Haves
- Previous automotive parts experience preferred (dealership experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems
- Experience with DMS systems preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Responsibilities
- Assist retail and wholesale customers at the parts counter in selecting and purchasing parts
- Work closely with service technicians to fulfill internal parts requests quickly and accurately
- Process parts orders, invoices, and payments through the dealership management system (DMS)
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including stocking, binning, and cycle counts
- Order parts from vendors and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Handle returns, warranties, and core processing in accordance with company guidelines
- Keep the parts department clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Answer phone calls and respond to parts inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Promote additional sales by suggesting related parts and accessories
- Follow all dealership policies and safety procedures
