About The Position

Responsible for the sale of parts to all available customers over the counter, through the shop or on the phone. This position is an hourly plus commission based position that, yearly, ranges between $40,000 - $50,000 / year. Hours are full-time, with a 3 day rotating schedule: 7:30 AM - 9:00 PM (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday for one month and then Thursday/Friday/Saturday for the next month).

Requirements

Previous Automotive Parts experience within a dealership or retail setting is a plus but not necessarily required
Professional personal appearance
Excellent communication skills
Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards
Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, both verbal and written.
Ability to operate smart phone, tablet and/or PC.
Valid in-state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Pull purchased parts from stock. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and projected delivery date.
Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Assist outside sales representatives (ie: wholesalers) with their orders.
Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repair process.
Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Replenish assigned inventory daily.
Advise parts manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition.
Keep current on new products and product updates.
Participate in all training programs that are made available.
SOP management- ensure that special orders are placed, status checked daily and customers are promptly contacted.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, management and customers.
