About The Position

The Parts Counter Specialist will assist customers with identifying, locating, ordering, receiving, and issuing automotive and equipment parts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about parts, comfortable using electronic catalogs and inventory systems, and able to provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Previous automotive, fleet, equipment, warehouse, or parts-counter experience.
• Knowledge of automotive or equipment parts.
• Experience using parts catalogs or electronic parts databases.
• Experience identifying parts by part number or equipment information.
• Inventory-management experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Fleet or maintenance-support experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with parts identification and sourcing.
• Research parts using catalogs, databases, and manufacturer information.
• Identify appropriate OEM and aftermarket parts.
• Process parts orders and special orders.
• Track backorders and availability.
• Receive and inspect incoming parts.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation.
• Issue parts to authorized customers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Process returns, warranties, exchanges, and related documentation.
• Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers.
• Notify customers when requested parts become available.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas.
• Follow company, customer, safety, and security procedures.
