About The Position

The Parts Counter Salesperson sells parts over the front and back counters under the supervision of the Parts Manager. The role handles customer parts requests through counter service and telephone sales, and supports the Parts and Service Departments with accurate parts processing, organization, inventory, and customer service.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations with customers, clients, and other employees.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
Basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of database, Internet, and inventory software.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Parts knowledge for all Freightliner models.

Responsibilities

Handle customers’ parts requirements through counter service and telephone sales.
Invoice and pull parts correctly.
Place parts in the appropriate area or arrange customer pickup or delivery.
Add Service Department parts to repair orders and issue them to technicians in a timely manner.
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Advise customers about changes to orders, including substitutions or modifications.
Help keep the parts area clean and shelves stocked and orderly.
Assist with physical stock inventory.
