About The Position

Truck Centers, Inc. (TCI) is seeking a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to join their team. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to assist customers in finding the commercial vehicle and equipment parts they need, either in person or over the phone. The position is available for the Monday - Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am shift. TCI has been a leader in the industry for over 50 years, representing Freightliner and Western Star trucks across Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, and is dedicated to exceptional customer service and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

2+ years of parts sales experience is highly preferable
Thorough knowledge of basic computer operations and inventory control systems
Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
Must be willing to participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Ability to lift or move up to 80 lbs. unassisted

Responsibilities

Assist customers over the counter or by phone in a lively, fast-paced setting.
Quickly and efficiently look up parts and technical information, check inventory, and locate stock within the TCI network.
Ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately and promptly, adhering to TCI policies, including verifying signatures, credit cards, and customer identity.
Schedule orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pick-up, ensuring they are processed quickly.
Issue credits for returned parts, verifying purchase details with original invoices or reference numbers.
Regularly check in with customers on order status, provide estimates, and make routine sales calls to maintain strong customer relationships.
Enter part numbers accurately to determine costs on repair orders.
