About The Position

Truck Centers, Inc. (TCI) is seeking a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to join their team. This role involves assisting customers in finding commercial vehicle and equipment parts, either in person or over the phone, within their standalone Parts Store which offers aftermarket parts options. The position operates Monday-Friday, during day shifts (typically 7am-4:30pm). TCI is a company with over 50 years of history, representing Freightliner and Western Star trucks across Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, and is dedicated to exceptional customer service and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Thorough knowledge of basic computer operations and inventory control systems
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
• Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
• Ability to lift or move up to 80 lbs. unassisted

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of parts sales experience is highly preferable

Responsibilities

• Assist customers over the counter or by phone in a lively, fast-paced setting.
• Quickly and efficiently look up parts and technical information, check inventory, and locate stock within the TCI network.
• Ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately and promptly, adhering to TCI policies, including verifying signatures, credit cards, and customer identity.
• Schedule orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pick-up, ensuring they are processed quickly.
• Issue credits for returned parts, verifying purchase details with original invoices or reference numbers.
• Regularly check in with customers on order status, provide estimates, and make routine sales calls to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Enter part numbers accurately to determine costs on repair orders.
