About The Position

Holman is a family-owned, global automotive services organization. Auto Park KIA has an outstanding opportunity for a Parts Counter Sales Rep to join the Holman family. This role involves assessing the type of part needed, assisting customers or mechanics in determining the correct part, reading catalogs and computer listings to find part numbers, checking availability, ordering parts if necessary, filling orders from stock, and marking/logging/storing parts. The position also includes receiving and filling telephone orders, preparing customer bills or adding parts to service orders, and providing exceptional service to all customers and vendors. Responsibilities extend to processing customer orders, recommending additional related repair items, gaining superior product knowledge, assisting with daily inventory, receiving, stocking, and shipping, and maintaining perpetual inventories. The role also requires maintaining the cleanliness and professional appearance of the service counter, work area, and stockroom, and maintaining records of time, expenses, and materials.

Requirements

  • Previous parts advisor experience
  • Understand basic automotive components and system
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Possess a valid in-state driver's license
  • Pass a motor vehicle report and possess an acceptable safe driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive dealership service experience is a plus
  • Any automotive certifications is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess the type of part needed or assist the customer or mechanic in determining the correct part for the job at hand.
  • Read catalogs and/or computer listings to obtain replacement part stock number, determine availability of part, and order part if necessary.
  • Fill orders from stock, mark/log and store parts according to prearranged system.
  • Receive and fill telephone orders.
  • Prepare customer bill or add parts to service order.
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers and vendors.
  • Process customer orders and recommend additional related repair items.
  • Gain superior product knowledge and understanding of vehicle components to effectively help customers.
  • Assist with daily inventory, receiving, stocking and shipping.
  • Assist in maintaining perpetual inventories.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the service counter, work area and stockroom.
  • Maintain records of time, expenses and materials.
