About The Position

I-State Truck Centers is seeking a Second Shift Parts Counter Representative for our Billings, Montana location. This role is crucial for assisting customers and technicians with their heavy-duty truck parts needs. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, identify and locate correct parts, process transactions accurately, and maintain inventory levels. We emphasize 'Pride in Service' in every interaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, preferably in automotive or heavy-duty equipment parts sales.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computerized inventory systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as necessary.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Any parts counter experience.
  • Preference for heavy duty trucks or equipment parts experience.
  • Familiarity with computer-based parts programs.
  • Experience working with automotive or heavy equipment parts and accessories.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment systems and components.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts cataloging systems (e.g., Electronic Parts Catalog).
  • Prior experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase parts.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Price parts for customers and technicians.
  • Lookup, price, and purchase parts for on-highway diesel trucks, off-highway, and mining equipment.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to technicians.
  • Enter and pick customer orders from stock.
  • Drive to local vendors and pick up parts and material for orders.
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Utilize computerized inventory systems to locate parts and check availability.
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, including invoicing and accepting payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and work area.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking parts shipments.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
