CarShop is seeking a Parts Counterperson to serve as the primary point of contact between our Parts Department and Service Team. In this role, you'll ensure technicians receive the right parts at the right time while maintaining inventory, building vendor relationships, and supporting the overall success of our service operations. Requirements

Previous automotive parts experience preferred
Working knowledge of automotive parts and inventory management
Strong computer skills, including experience using online marketplaces such as eBay
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing
High school diploma or the equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect parts department including, but not limited to, hazardous waste disposal, emergency response, safe driving, and OSHA Right-to-Know
Ability to ensure use of proper safety equipment
Computer proficiency
Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to effectively communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

ASE Certification preferred but not required
i-Car Certification preferred but not required
Specific manufacturer's certification preferred but not required
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of one year's experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.

Responsibilities

Assist Service Technicians and Service Managers with parts requests
Maintain an accurate and organized parts inventory
Source, order, and distribute the correct parts in a timely manner
Research and secure the best pricing from approved vendors
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while identifying new supplier opportunities
Communicate parts order status and delivery updates to technicians and other departments
Assist with inventory control, stocking, and organization
Utilize computer systems and online resources, including eBay, to locate hard-to-find parts
Support departmental goals while delivering exceptional internal customer service
