About The Position

Voss Chevrolet is looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Parts Counterperson to join their team. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the parts department and the service department, handling sales of parts and accessories to technicians, service advisors, and retail customers via counter, service, and phone interactions. The position involves daily collaboration with suppliers and team members to manage parts inventory, utilizing computer skills for EPC and inventory systems. Responsibilities include daily cash handling, following up on outstanding issues, and maintaining orderly records for repair orders, insurance estimates, and special orders. Voss Chevrolet provides comprehensive training on GM parts and technology to ensure employees stay current with industry standards.

Requirements

Previous automotive parts experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
Knowledge of automotive parts and terminology
Strong customer service and communication skills
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment
Comfortable using computers and inventory/parts management systems
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
Must be able to pass a Background and Drug Screen

Responsibilities

Serve as the principal contact between the parts department and the service department for the sale of parts and accessories.
Handle direct customer contact for sales over the counter, through service, and on the phone.
Work daily with suppliers and team members to ensure adequate parts and tools are available.
Utilize computer skills for the EPC and inventory systems.
Perform daily cashing out for customers.
Follow up on outstanding issues or parts.
Ensure all records for repair orders, insurance estimates, and special orders are kept in an orderly manner.
