The Parts Counter Associate is responsible to sell parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. This role involves assisting customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, informing them of companion part requirements and specials, and ensuring they are exposed to the full product line. The associate will also handle incoming phone calls and counter inquiries, provide price quotes, review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing, and pull/fill orders from stock. Key responsibilities include notifying the parts manager of out-of-stock items, informing relevant parties when special ordered parts arrive, and ensuring all parts are properly tagged. The role also requires following department policies on special ordering, following up on back-ordered parts, maintaining a timely flow of paperwork, and ensuring all internal requests for parts are billed correctly. Additionally, the associate will verify will-call and back-order files weekly, receive payments, and assist outside sales representatives.
