About The Position

Responsible for computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. This is a part-time, in-person position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, AM shift, approximately 25 hours per week. The role involves compiling and sorting documents, verifying and posting business transactions, auditing invoices, investigating vendor payment issues, computing and recording charges, preparing various financial records, reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements, monitoring loans and accounts payable/receivable, and assisting personnel with account-related inquiries. The position also requires maintaining an organized work area, accurately recording hours worked, following company policies and safety regulations, and demonstrating the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Field of Study: Automotive, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Entry level position.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Automobile Salesperson License.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to learn the Dealership Management System, Spreadsheet software, accounting software, and parts inventory software.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
  • Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment.
  • Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
  • Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
  • Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers.
  • Extracts general ledger information.
  • Compiles cost reports and revenue and balance sheets.
  • Reconciles bank statements.
  • Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date.
  • Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
  • Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
  • Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections.
  • Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
