About The Position

TrailerCraft in Fairbanks, AK is looking for a Parts Back Counterperson. This role involves assisting technicians and other internal customers in a professional manner, accurately processing orders in the system, and coordinating the pulling of product for shipment or delivery. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.
  • Fork-lift certification will be required after hire.
  • 2-3 years warehouse experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be professional and safety minded at all times.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Requires regular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to and exceeding 75 pounds.
  • Climbing, stretching, reaching, bending, squatting, walking, and some stairs.
  • Must be able to operate motor vehicles such as forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians and other internal customers with selection of required parts to complete customer repairs.
  • Accurately process orders in the system and coordinate pulling product, shipment or delivery to the technician, shop manager or service account manager.
  • Manage all aspects of parts department functions including cycle counting, inventory & freight management.
  • Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts.
  • Locate available parts when the dealership is out of stock and issue purchase orders for those parts.
  • Use and operate a computer and multiple computer programs.
  • Provide price quotes, availability and other information to technicians and shop manager or service account manager.
  • Possess general knowledge on warranty periods and guidelines.
  • Process manufacturers core returns.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information when time permits.
  • Keep counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Participate in a rotation for after-hours phone calls for emergency parts.
  • Stay current on new products and product updates.
  • May be requested to cover duties at parts front counter if scheduling needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned as business needs require.
