Our parts department is the backbone of a high-performing service operation -- and the Back Counter Parts Advisor is one of the most critical roles in making it run. The back counter doesn't get the spotlight but nothing runs without it. At Porsche Audi Volkswagen of Anchorage, the parts team is treated as exactly what it is -- a critical part of the guest experience and a key driver of service department performance. You'll work with premium brands, build specialized knowledge, and be part of a team that actually notices when you bring your best every day.

Requirements

  • Parts experience is preferred -- but if you have a strong mechanical or technical background and a willingness to learn, we want to hear from you.
  • Previous dealership parts experience preferred -- Porsche, Audi, or Volkswagen brand familiarity a strong plus
  • Mechanical or technical background welcome -- hands-on automotive knowledge translates well to the back counter
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized -- accuracy in parts identification and inventory management is non-negotiable
  • Comfortable working across multiple manufacturer parts systems and DMS platforms
  • Strong communicator -- able to work efficiently with technicians and service advisors in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities without losing accuracy
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • A team-first mindset -- the service department's success depends on yours

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary parts resource for the service department -- supplying technicians with the right parts, at the right time, with accuracy and efficiency
  • Process parts orders, returns, and warranty transactions using dealership management software
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels -- receiving, stocking, and organizing parts to ensure availability and minimize delays on the service floor
  • Identify and source parts across Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen catalogs -- navigating multiple manufacturer systems with confidence
  • Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to anticipate parts needs and keep repair workflows moving without interruption
  • Monitor and communicate parts availability, lead times, and back-order status so the service team can set accurate expectations with guests
  • Support obsolescence control and inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits
  • Build strong working relationships with manufacturer representatives and wholesale suppliers
