About The Position

The Back Parts Counter Representative is responsible for providing customer service and sales assistance in accordance with company policy. You will act as the primary interface with retail and wholesale customers as well as service department employees to sell the required parts and accessories.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect parts department including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal, emergency response, safe driving, and OSHA Right-to-Know
  • Ability to ensure the use of proper safety equipment
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and practices
  • Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership, and organization
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year's experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.
  • ASE Certification
  • i-Car Certification
  • Specific manufacturer's certification
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Providing customer service and sales assistance.
  • Acting as the primary interface with retail and wholesale customers as well as service department employees to sell the required parts and accessories.
  • Ensuring Service Technicians have required parts readily available when needed.
  • Maintaining an unparalleled level of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Focusing on customer and Technician satisfaction while ensuring profitability.
  • Setting monthly and annual goals for the Parts Department with the Parts Manager and reporting on progress.
