Partnerships Manager, US Public Health

AnthropicSan Francisco, CA
$300,000 - $365,000Hybrid

About The Position

Anthropic is seeking a Partnerships Manager to expand its health initiatives into US public health. This role involves shaping engagement with the US public health system and managing partnerships at federal, state, and local levels. The position combines partnership management with strategic input, requiring credibility in the US public health sector, technical fluency in AI deployment, and comfort with an evolving landscape. Unlike Account Executives who focus on scaled product adoption, Partnership Managers build deep, customized partnerships for impact and learning, working with a smaller portfolio of flagship partners.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in US public health, health policy, or public sector health innovation.
  • 5+ years managing external partnerships, multi-stakeholder initiatives, or programs spanning government and civil society.
  • Deep relationships and credibility in the US public health ecosystem (CDC, state health departments, schools of public health, funding foundations).
  • Working understanding of how federal, state, and local public health agencies operate, fund programs, and adopt new technology.
  • Technical fluency to discuss AI concepts, LLM capabilities/limitations, and collaborate with technical teams.
  • Experience building programs or portfolios in early-stage environments.
  • High agency and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Genuine drive to strengthen the public health system and its communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • An MPH or related credential.
  • Experience inside a federal or state health agency (CDC, HHS, a state DOH) or a closely related organization.
  • Background in epidemiology, ideally with hands-on surveillance experience.
  • Experience working in a global context.
  • Experience at a healthtech company, AI organization, or in a product-adjacent role.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Anthropic's US public health strategy, identifying priority partners and use cases, and informing broader health work with field insights.
  • Manage a portfolio of flagship deployments, coordinating with Applied AI, product, policy, and GTM teams to achieve impact.
  • Source, evaluate, and onboard new partners, structuring engagements within government procurement, data governance, and privacy constraints.
  • Translate partner needs into deployment plans that consider legacy systems and workforce realities.
  • Support the creation of shared resources and digital public goods for responsible AI use.
  • Partner with academic and evaluation organizations to study effectiveness and build an evidence base.
  • Represent Anthropic at public health convenings, with funders, and policymakers.
  • Help shape team processes for this growing area and transition opportunities to scaled sales or public sector teams.
  • Travel to partner sites and SF headquarters approximately every 6 weeks (around 20% travel).

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Optional equity donation matching
  • Generous vacation and parental leave
  • Flexible working hours
  • Office space for collaboration
