About The Position

We are building Protege to solve the biggest unmet need in AI — getting access to the right training data. The process today is time intensive, incredibly expensive, and often ends in failure. The Protege platform facilitates the secure, efficient, and privacy-centric exchange of AI training data. Solving AI’s data problem is a generational opportunity. We’re backed by world-class investors and already powering partnerships with some of the most ambitious teams in AI. The company that succeeds will be one of the largest in AI — and in tech. We’re a lean, fast-moving, high-trust team of builders who are obsessed with velocity and impact. Our culture is built for people who thrive on ambiguity, own outcomes, and want to shape the future of data and AI. This role is responsible for making sourcing an always-on function. You will identify organizations that hold valuable healthcare datasets, including partners who may not yet realize their data can be commercialized, and help expand Protege's reach across modalities, channels, and partner types. This is not a strictly source-and-contact BDR role –– the work carries strategic impact in how we view, segment, and prioritize prospective partners. You will sit at the front end of the healthcare partnership lifecycle, pairing tightly with Alex, Marketing, and Data Lab to map the market, run disciplined outbound and triage inbounds, qualify early fit, and hand off strong opportunities into deeper qualification and activation.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, partnerships, market development, or outbound sourcing in a fast-moving environment ideally with existing relationships and experience in healthcare.
  • Energized by building from scratch and creating structure where little exists today.
  • Strong at research, prospecting, qualification, and synthesizing ambiguous information into clear next steps.
  • Can speak credibly with external stakeholders about data assets, commercialization opportunities, and strategic fit.
  • Highly organized, metrics-oriented, and disciplined about pipeline management and follow-through.
  • Comfortable operating cross-functionally with commercial, technical, and marketing stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare data, healthcare partnerships, or AI data ecosystems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a targeted pipeline of prospective healthcare data partners across key modalities and market segments.
  • Map the market to identify data holders, strategic contacts, channel partners, brokers, and other high-leverage sourcing paths.
  • Support the development of a segmentation and prioritization framework for prospective partners
  • Stay on top of market and industry trends, incumbent and emerging players (and funding activity) and proactively communicate what’s relevant to Healthcare Partnerships to promote informed decision making and prioritization for sourcing.
  • Prospect into new partners through outbound email, calls, LinkedIn, referrals, conferences, and other channel-driven motions – including organizing in-person events (dinners, office visits, conference events, etc.)
  • Run first-touch discovery conversations to understand dataset quality, modality fit, licensing posture, commercial flexibility, and ability to scale.
  • Evaluate opportunities against Protege fit, including data relevance, operational readiness, partner sophistication, and valuation potential.
  • Create concise handoff briefs that help Strategic Partnerships, Healthcare, and the Strategic Partnerships Manager move qualified partners quickly into sample evaluation and deal work.
  • Maintain strong pipeline hygiene in Salesforce and help build, monitor, and present reporting dashboards and key sourcing metrics; you will own conversion and funnel metrics and use data to inform allocation of resources
  • Support development of category briefs, market maps, one-pagers, and other collateral that sharpens Protege's healthcare partnership motion.
  • Monitor inbound healthcare partner interest and work closely with Marketing to improve conversion and channel performance.
  • Feed market insights back into the broader healthcare partnerships strategy so sourcing priorities evolve with customer demand and portfolio learnings.
