About The Position
Premier Long Island law firm seeks an experienced Trusts & Estates Litigation Partner for the firm's nationally recognized Trusts, Estates and Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity to join a collegial group of experienced attorneys who are known for their thought leadership in this practice area and their involvement in the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and Suffolk County Bar Association. The firm has a strong foundation, excellent business and support staff, and a team-oriented approach with a successful history of integrating Partners and experienced attorneys. A book of business is preferred.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- 10+ years of sophisticated Trusts & Estates Litigation experience.
- Significant Surrogate's Court experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with estate administration, including estate tax matters, is a plus.
- Trial experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a Trusts & Estates Litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Take and/or defend depositions.
- Appear in court and at hearings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and related submissions.
- Conduct legal research.
- Supervise and mentor a team of associates and paralegals.
