About The Position

Under the supervision of the state Partner Services Program Manager, this role provides supervision to the service area DIS team unit (Case Workers II & II) for HIV/STD Partner Service Activities. The position ensures training for new staff, daily workload distribution and management goals, performs or reviews surveillance analyses, provides case management guidance/recommendations, and other quality assurance elements. It assures HIPAA & privacy standards compliance with federal/state laws and the South Carolina Department of Public Health's STD/HIV/VH Section and all other relevant policies and standards. The role collaborates with internal programs and external health stakeholders to provide meaningful and effective disease interrupting services and identifies and implements workforce staff development needs/opportunities. It directs, manages, and implements daily partner service unit activities and systems. Examples of work include performing daily agency administrative activities, demonstrations of mentorship skills, i.e., training and coaching staff in interviews and field investigations and software skills, i.e., ability to teach and use program-relevant software and database systems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in physical or social sciences from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten (10) years working in public health programs, ideally focused on STD/HIV with medical or investigative tasks.
  • Three (3) years supervising Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS), case workers, or providing daily oversight of non-clinical coordinators who perform sexually transmitted infection (STI) contact tracing activities for index case and contacts.
  • Ability to teach and use program-relevant software and database systems.

  • Certified in Disease Intervention (CDI).
  • CDC TRAIN - Disease Intervention Training Plan (Course ID 5110).
  • Certified in Public Health (CPH).
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM).

  • DPH courses: Personnel Practices, Introduction to Supervision, Conflict Resolution, Harassment Prevention Through Awareness, etc.
