About The Position

Leads the strategic and operational functions of a large, district-wide mental health team. Responsibilities include managing recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance support for staff. The position also drives department-wide professional development, participants in grant management, and collaborates with other departments to strengthen mental health programming. Additionally, it involves maintaining systems and resources that enhance operational efficiency and support continuous professional growth.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree
  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in public education
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider (SSP) license
  • Experience in leadership roles
  • Experience in developing, planning and executing professional development opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing for 200+ mental health positions, including recruitment, screening, hiring, onboarding, and coverage coordination for vacancies and leaves.
  • Assess mental health training needs and lead the development, coordination, and delivery of department-wide professional development for over 200 staff and an intensive onboarding program for new hires in collaboration with the Director of Mental Health and Mental Health Partners. This will include planning and execution of monthly department meetings in collaboration with the Mental Health Leadership Team.
  • Manage the daily operations and organizational systems that support the Mental Health Department’s effectiveness and efficiency in collaboration with the Director of Mental Health and Department Specialist. Maintain and develop essential resources to support departmental operations. Along with Director and other members of Mental Health Leadership Team, administer and manage grants related to mental health programming throughout the district.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, consultation, and support to a team of itinerant and contract mental health providers in collaboration with Mental Health Partners. Strategically assign staff to schools based on needs, monitor service quality, and collaborate with school administrators to ensure alignment with building-level priorities and student support goals.
  • Partner with SEL Coordinator, Mental Health Director, and other Mental Health Partners to identify promising practices across all tiers with a special emphasis on Tier 1 and Tier 2. Evaluate and identify promising practices to implement in limited pilot studies through partnerships with vendors, other districts, and universities.
  • Partner with key internal partners (e.g., IT, Strategy, etc.) in CCSD to develop systems to ensure high-quality data inputs are available for decision-making and trend analysis. Share data with Mental Health Leadership Team and larger department to assist in decision-making, trend analysis, and evaluating effectiveness of pilot/promising programs to guide resource allocation.
