About The Position
This program provides participants with more flexibility and personal responsibility in choosing services and support through an annual budget. The Participant Choice Specialist (PCS) position includes training and support of Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) and our clients with the self-determination program (SDP). PCSs may be involved in outreach to the community, calculation of Individual Budget Certification and Calculation Tools (IBCCTs), providing resources to Service Coordinators (SCs), supporting SCs with client meetings regarding SDP, reviewing SDP spending plans, participating in the development of Individual Program Plans for clients, communicating with Financial Management Services (FMS) agencies, and any other tasks related to the self-determination program at ACRC.
Requirements
- Master’s or a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Knowledge regarding current trends and philosophies in the field of developmental disabilities
- Valid California driver license and automobile liability insurance
- Two years of Regional Center experience, or two years of relevant experience working as a vendor for a Regional Center

- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and qualifying diagnoses
- Knowledge of programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities
