Requirements

Current NYS RN registration
CPR certification

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.
Certification to teach Nurse Aide or Practical Nursing
One year of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility
One year of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the Commissioner of Education
Completion of the State approved professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners
Documentation verifying one year of experience caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill

Responsibilities

Teaching clinical instruction and evaluation
Lab instruction and evaluation
Student mentoring
Ensuring strengthening of knowledge, skills, and competencies
Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning
Be innovative in the presentation of hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes
Assess learning outcomes and provide timely feedback
Be responsive to student questions and available for student support
Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education
Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials
